     Did you know that you need not be more than eight to try scuba diving for the first time? Or that the minimum age requirement to get a worldwide recognized certification is 10 years of age?

Coral Grand Divers have embraced the new PADI programs for children and families, programs that will give you something to unite about on holidays and vacations long into the future.

If your children are between 8 and 9 years old, we have two exciting programs they can participate in!

If they are older, they can participate in most PADI certification courses as Junior Divers.

The PADI Bubblemaker Program

Under the direct supervision of a PADI instructor, kids from 8 years and up can dive in a swimming pool or in confined open water (e.g. off our beautiful beach) to a maximum depth of 2 meters. It is an excellent introduction to the exciting underwater world and your childrens first step towards a life long passion. A perfect choice if your children are unsure if they want to persue certification are younger than the required 10 years for PADI Jr. Scuba Diver or Jr. Open Water Diver.

The PADI Seal Team Program

What PADI says: The PADI Seal Team program is an exciting underwater activity-filled introduction to the world of diving. The PADI Seal Team program gives children the a chance to swim around underwater and experience adventure, discovery and thrills. It also provides parents or guardians with a structured program that lets their children develop skills, learn about the aquatic realm and have a lot of good clean fun.

Getting your kids on the Team

To become official members of the PADI Seal Team, kids must complete the first 5 of 15 AquaMissions. These activities develop fundamental scuba skills and knowledge while preparing kids for further adventure.

Children learn about diving by watching the PADI Seal Team video, through the PADI Seal Team AquaMission Activity Book and during predive briefings with their PADI instructor. Each AquaMission consists of a briefing, a skill session and a game or activity.

Completing the pool dive and answering challenging questions in their PADI Seal Team AquaMission Logbooks earns young divers an AquaMission decal. Finishing AquaMissions 1-5, which is the equivalent of the skills in Confined Water Dive One from The Open Water Diver Course, means youngsters are PADI Seal Team Members. Receiving a PADI Seam Team member card and wall certificate recognizes their accomplishments and allows them to work toward PADI Master Seal Team recognition.
